Congressman Kevin McCarthy Visits Domino Plastics

Congressman Kevin McCarthy visited Domino Plastics Manufacturing, Inc. in Bakersfield on March 27th to recognize the company’s commitment to the economic well-being of its community.

Last year the company was awarded the Employment Training Panel grant worth $185,000 which has helped president and owner W. Thomas Bathe work to consistently improve his staff’s skills. The grant facilitates the ultimate goal of increasing the earning capacity of the employees through providing Basic English and math skills to the laborers, as well as advanced communication and business skills to the sales staff.

Congressman McCarthy met Bathe when he was presenting him with the Businessman of the Year award in 2006 in Washington D.C., hosted by the National Republican Convention Committee. His visit to Domino Plastics highlighted Bathe’s efforts to create higher wage-earning employees in Kern County, and a more successful business overall to positively contribute to Kern’s economy.  His tour of the facility included viewing and learning about the many ‘tools of the trade’, meeting employees and watching them work and spending time in the sales office.

Domino Plastics Manufacturing, Inc. manufactures plastic items such as CD sleeves, wallet inserts, sheet protectors, packaging pouches and much more. Check out their website at www.dominoplastics.com.
