Kern County's most easily accessible deep water port is an extension of the Port of Los Angeles and is located in the City of Shafter at the International Trade and Transportation Center (ITTC). The ITTC is Site #3 of Foreign Trade Zone 202 (FTZ), the Port of Los Angeles. This provides a tariff-free transfer of goods into the United States prior to assembly and packaging, and later, distribution throughout the United States via all methods of transportation.
