The Kern Economic Development Corporation is a public private partnership that works to stimulate a diversified and strong economic climate in Kern County through recruitment of new business opportunities and assistance in the retention and expansion of existing businesses.

Accomplishing this mission requires a strong partnership with public and private entities such as city and county governments, educational institutions and private businesses. The Kern EDC is a business driven organization, funded by over 180 Kern County businesses that benefit from their association with the Kern EDC. These organizations recognize that an investment in Kern EDC is an investment in their company's future and an investment in their community. Growing the local economy means all area businesses prosper and the Kern EDC has a good track record in stimulating economic growth in Kern County. In fact, over the past year and a half, Kern EDC has helped to recruit more than eight companies bringing more than 1600 new jobs to Kern County.
